Our gender equality policy and the channels to report misconduct, harassment and discrimination

Gender equality policy

Popele Società Cooperativa Sociale recognises gender equality, equal opportunities, respect for diversity and the value of people as fundamental principles of its identity and of the way it operates.

The Cooperative was founded in January 2008 in Sinigo on the initiative of a group of local women who wanted to give a concrete answer to the difficulties families face in caring for and educating their children, also in relation to the need to reconcile family and work responsibilities.

This origin is a defining element of Popele's identity and an important foundation for the Cooperative's commitment to promoting a working environment based on respect, fairness and the value of people.

The Cooperative also regards its educational service as part of a broader social responsibility towards children, families, workers and the community in which it operates.

The Popele and Biene Maya microstructures pursue, among their aims, the development of children's identity and autonomy, socialisation, respect for and acceptance of diversity, and support for parenting.

In line with these values, Popele adopts this Gender Equality Policy as a reference for its management system and for its organisational, management and people-development decisions.
